Show me kindness, God, because people are hunting me down. All day long they press their attack, trying to crush me.

My enemies hunt me down all day long — so many are fighting against me from their high positions.

When fear closes in, I put my trust in you.

In God — whose word I celebrate — in God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can mere flesh do to me?

All day long they twist my words; everything they scheme is aimed at destroying me.

They conspire together, they lurk in the shadows, they track my every step, waiting for the moment to take my life.

After all this evil, will they really escape? In your burning anger, God, bring down these people.

You have kept count of all my restless nights. You have stored every tear in your bottle. Aren't they already recorded in your book?

The moment I call out to you, my enemies will retreat. This I know: God is for me.

In God — whose word I celebrate — in Yahweh — whose word I celebrate —

In God I have put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?

God, I am bound by the promises I made to you. I will present my thank offerings to you.

Because you have rescued my life from death and kept my feet from stumbling, so that I can walk in God's presence in the light of the living.
