It is good to give thanks to Yahweh, to sing praise to your name, Most High,

to declare your faithful love in the morning, and your trustworthiness through the night,

with the ten-stringed harp and the lyre, with the melody of the lute.

Because you have made me glad by what you've done, Yahweh; I sing for joy at the works of your hands.

How magnificent are your works, Yahweh! How incredibly deep are your thoughts!

A person who can't think beyond themselves doesn't understand this; someone foolish can't grasp it:

When those who cause harm spring up like grass, and all who practice evil flourish — it is only so they will be destroyed forever.

But you, Yahweh, are exalted forever.

Look at your enemies, Yahweh — look at how your enemies will be lost; all who practice evil will be scattered.

But you have lifted my strength like that of a wild ox; you have poured fresh oil over me.

My eyes have seen the downfall of those who watched for my ruin; my ears have heard the defeat of those who rose against me with evil intent.

Those who live rightly will flourish like a palm tree; they will grow tall like a cedar in Lebanon.

Planted in the house of Yahweh, they flourish in the courtyards of our God.

Even in old age they will still bear fruit; they will stay full of life and green —

declaring that Yahweh is just. He is my rock, and there is no wrong in him.
