For the music director. Set to "Do Not Destroy." A psalm of Asaph. A song. We give thanks to you, God. We give thanks — your name is near. People tell of the extraordinary things you've done.

"When I choose the right moment, I will judge with perfect fairness.

When the earth and everyone in it trembles, I am the one who keeps its foundations steady." Selah

I said to the arrogant, "Stop your boasting!" And to the corrupt, "Don't raise your horn!

Don't raise your horn up high. Don't speak with a stiff, defiant neck."

Because no one from the east or the west, not from the desert or the mountains, can lift someone up.

It is God who governs. He brings one person down and lifts another up.

Because Yahweh holds a cup in his hand, full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out, and all the corrupt of the earth will drain it down to the last drop.

But I will declare this forever. I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.

"I will cut off every horn of the corrupt, but the horns of the just will be lifted high."
